The SuperBowl is one of the biggest events in the sporting calendar, and this year’s event promises to be an all-time classic. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers take on the Kansas City Chiefs, in a matchup between the most decorated quarterback of all time and the number one signal-caller in the NFL today.
If you’re thinking of betting on SuperBowl LV, we’ve got some fantastic SuperBowl promotions to help you make the most of the big game. But before we take a look at those SuperBowl offers, let’s preview the game by assessing the two teams going head to head this Sunday.
Tom Brady won an astonishing six SuperBowls in his 18 years with the New England Patriots. At 43 years of age, the veteran quarterback will be bidding to win the Vince Lombardi Trophy in his first season with the Bucs. Whilst all eyes will be on Brady, it’s been a real team effort for Tampa Bay this season.
After they qualified for the NFC Playoffs as a Wild Card team with an 11-5 record, the Bucs have registered three hugely impressive victories on the road. A 31-23 success at the Washington Football Team, was followed by upset wins at both the New Orleans Saints and Green Bay Packers. A key ingredient of their success has been the scheming of Defensive Coordinator Todd Bowles. The Bucs defense has successfully stifled two elite quarterbacks in Drew Brees and Aaron Rodgers. Playmakers such as Devin White, Jason Pierre-Paul and Shaquil Barrett have been in outstanding form, but will need to reach another level to stop the prolific Chiefs offence.
On the other side of the ball, Brady is well supported by an elite receiving corp featuring Mike Evans, Chris Godwin and Rob Gronkowski, as well as a strong 1-2 punch in the running game thanks to Leonard Fournette and Ronald Jones. In a game that’s likely to develop into a shootout, Tampa will need their offensive weapons firing on all cylinders. If that happens, then the SuperBowl offers a chance for Brady to rubber-stamp his legacy as the greatest quarterback of all time.
Before the season began, the big question was whether the Chiefs could repeat the imperious form that propelled them to victory in SuperBowl LIV. The answer has been a resounding ‘yes’. In fact, they’ve arguably been even better this season. A 14-2 record in the AFC West gave them a bye into the Divisional Round of the Playoffs, and whilst both the Cleveland Browns and the Buffalo Browns represented stiff tests, the Chiefs were equal to the challenge.
Patrick Mahomes has once again proven that he’s the best quarterback in the game, with a string of incredible performances and clutch throws. The fourth year passer has thrown 42 touchdowns and just six interceptions this season. But there’s far more to Mahomes than just stats, he has an uncanny ability to make seemingly impossible throws appear commonplace, and his huge arm strength can stretch the field, causing nightmares for defenses.
It helps that Kansas City also have two elite level catchers at their disposal, in the shapes of speedster Tyreek Hill and tight end Travis Kelce. They are complemented by a deep roster of talented offensive players, so deep that even an injury to Mahomes didn’t derail them in the fourth quarter against the Browns. Backup quarterback Chad Henne came into the game and helped close out the victory.
In defence, Chris Jones and Tyronn Mathieu give them game changing ability. Jones is a master at shutting down running games and pressurizing quarterbacks. Meanwhile, Mathieu is a supreme playmaker, capable of changing a game in an instant. It’s no surprise that the Chiefs are 3 point favourites with the bookmakers.
