Diamonds is one of the games at Stake.com that has been developed in-house and is exclusive to the platform. If you wish to check out our articles about one of the other exclusive games for this provider, then check out Stake.com Slide guide. The game Diamonds at Stake.com is loosely based on the board and card game of the same name that was invented by Larry Black back in 1985.
Although this version of the game is completely unique to Stake.com, it does have many similar equivalents on other online casino sites and apps. While the original version of the game is 100% strategy-based, the version at Stake.com has been altered so that luck and chance play a bigger part – Stake.com is an online casino after all. Weâll explain more about how and why this is throughout our Stake.com Diamonds guide.
While the original board and card game is complex, strategic, and can take hours to play, the online casino version at Stake.com is quick and easy. This quickfire game involves betting on the colour and combinations of diamonds that appear on your screen. To start off with, you enter the amount that you want to bet, which must be between the minimum and maximum Stake.com limits for the game.
Once you start actually playing, combinations of five diamonds will appear one by one on your screen. You then bet on the various combinations of diamonds that may appear from a selection of seven matching options. The more unlikely the combination is, the better the odds are. For example, if no diamonds match, then you will score zero and lose your stake, from there you have two of a kind, two pairs, three of a kind and four of a kind.
The game is very quickfire in nature, with each round taking just seconds. As is the case with a lot of other Stake.com games, you can choose to play in both manual and automatic modes. Like Crash, itâs a game of luck, risk vs reward and holding your nerve.
Before you start playing Diamonds you will set your stake, which will remain the same for all rounds that you play unless you change it in-between times. There are just a few seconds in between rounds with Diamonds as we said earlier in our Stake.com Diamonds guide, so you will need to be quick should you wish to change it. From there on in, the concept is simple – you just need to watch the diamonds come up on your screen and hit âbuyâ if and when the combination comes up.
The diamonds appear on your screen one at a time, which is where the risk and reward element comes in. If you hit the âbuyâ button for a pair when just two diamonds have appeared and there then turns out to be three or four of a kind, you will only get the payout on the pair. If you wait until all five diamonds have appeared without cashing out on any previous combination, your payout will be based on the best combination available with the final five.
Rather than using odds, the diamond pairs have fixed multipliers of your stakes which are as follows:
If there are no matching diamonds, then you will lose your stake completely, meanwhile cashing out at a single pair will mean that you get your stake returned. Two pairs will double your money and then it increases logically from there on up.
As we briefly touched upon earlier in our Stake.com Diamonds guide, there are two ways in which you can play the game – manual and automatic. This is something that is common in most of Stake.comâs in-house developed games, as you can see in our Stake.com Scarab Spin guide. The concept of each playing type is fairly simple, as we can see below.
With manual play, it is up to you to choose when to cash out on each round by selecting the âbuyâ button. With automatic play, you set a predetermined amount that you would like to cash out on in every round. For example, if you set the amount at x3 for three matching diamonds, then you wonât be able to cash out on one or two pairs if they come up, nor will you be able to wait to select four or five matching diamonds.
As you can probably tell from reading this Stake.com Diamonds guide so far, this is really a simple and fast-paced game of chance. While thereâs nothing complex about it, it is one of those addictive little games and it can be easy to get sucked into. Although not necessarily a strategy, our first piece of advice would be to set a time limit when playing this game. Alongside that, we would also set aside a very small amount of your bankroll as a budget for this game.
In terms of strategies, there isnât anything you can do that will 100% tip the odds in your favour. Although the diamond sets that you are betting on can be likened to poker, that is essentially where the similarities end. If we were actually to compare Diamonds to any other popular game, it would be Crash. There are still some tips and strategies that can be used, depending on what suits your playing style. You can consult our Stake.com Roulette guide for more tips and tricks for playing games of chance.
One strategy thatâs commonly used when playing games like Diamonds is the Martingale strategy, though itâs not something that weâre going to readily recommend in this Stake.com Diamonds guide. The Martingale strategy involves halving your win bets and doubling on losses with the idea being to win over a short period of time or at least break even. This is where the automatic playing mode could be useful as this strategy is best used when keeping your bet the same while adjusting your stake accordingly.

We havenât covered it yet in this Stake.com Diamonds guide, but itâs pretty important to mention that Stake.com is a crypto casino. As the term suggests this means that you can only fund your account using one of eight cryptocurrencies, includin Bitcoin, Ethereum, and dogecoin. When playing games like Diamonds and others at Stake.com, you can place your bets in fiat currencies like CAD. However, ultimately your deposits and withdrawals will be made in crypto.
At the end of the day, Diamonds is a simple and fun game that can either win or lose you money. Itâs not a game that we would dedicate a huge part of your bankroll to, but itâs definitely worth spending some time on if you get a thrill out of games that require you to hold your nerve. Just remember to manage your time and refer back to our Stake.com Diamonds guide if needed.
