Bonus Offers

So is SkyBet reliable for putting on decent sign up offers? You should know that by signing up to SkyBet New Zealand customers could get $20 in free bets, just for making one simple qualifying $5 bet.

You won’t need to use any bonus codes to get this deal, but you will need to put down a $5 bet that’s either a single or each way bet that has odds of 2.00 or great. By doing this, you would get rewarded with two $10 free bet tokens.

You won’t be able to withdraw the free bet tokens, but you can use them to get more from your sports bets. Don’t forget that there is no time limits on the free bet tokens so that you shouldn’t have to feel too rushed in using them.

This deal is open to all new customers who make a qualifying deposit with any payment method other than the Neteller or Skrill ewallets. It might not be the largest sports betting welcome bonus deal that we’ve come across. But seeing as the deal essentially gives you 400% the amount of your qualifying bet, there is no denying the generosity of this deal, and so we should award some good SkyBet ratings for their sign up bonus.

Usability, Look & Feel

SkyBet have done a good job in giving their customers a pretty straightforward way to put down their sports bets. Like many sports betting sites, you’ll get a list of all of the sports down the sidebar on the left. Here you’ll also get to find the latest promotions, check out the live betting options, and even find the brand’s help centre.

All of the days’s biggest sports bets can be found in the centre of the homepage along with a selection of some of the most interesting promotions. You’ll also find handy tabs for things like accumulators and popular bets here.

The right-hand side of the SkyBet site is taken up with your bet slip that has short-cuts for being able to go to in-play betting, build an accumulator, or look at the next races. To be honest, we didn’t necessarily need to see our bet slip taking up so much space, but it could be useful for some punters. But on the whole, we found that SkyBet site to be quick to load and simple to use.

App/Mobile

There’s something effortlessly convenient about being able to place your bets via a smartphone or tablet. While you can always use the browser on your mobile to get to the SkyBet site, we’d recommend that you download the SkyBet app.

The SkyBet app is available for Android and iOS devices. By downloading the SkyBet app you will be able to get full access to all of the brand’s features with a specially optimised mobile interface.

This means that you’ll get a very easy way to enjoy browsing all of the bets on offer, and you’ll even be provided with plenty of handy statistics with just a quick swipe of your smartphone screen.

The SkyBet app also has all of the advanced features of the betting site so that you can enjoy putting down a last-minute in-play bet or take advantage of the SkyBet responsible gambling tools.

If you have an iPad or iPhone then you could benefit from using Apple Pay to make simple one-touch deposits, and you can even use Touch ID or Face ID to sign into your account quickly and securely. All of which means that it has never been easier to bet on the go than with the SkyBet app.

Payments

By coming to SkyBet, New Zealand customers should be able to pick from a few different payment methods in order to make their deposits. These include payment brands like the Visa, Maestro and MasterCard debit and credit cards, Apple Pay and the PayPal ewallet.

Your card deposits should be instant and there should be no fees incurred for making a deposit with your debit or credit card. The minimum amount for card deposits is $5.

You will also be able to make withdrawals from a minimum of $10 at a time with a credit or debit card. These withdrawals should take between two and five business days to process. The precise amount that you are allowed to withdraw varies according to the card brand, with Maestro customers being unable to withdraw over $5,000 at one time.

You will be able to use PayPal to make deposits from a minimum of $10 at a time. These deposits should be carried out instantly, plus PayPal withdrawals could end up back in your account in less than 24 hours. SkyBet also allow you to make deposits from a minimum of $5 with the Apple Pay payment method.

Customer Service

While our SkyBet reviews have found that they serve up a massive amount of sports odds, it’s still worth asking is SkyBet reliable in how they treat their customers?

After all you could come to the site and not know how to make a deposit or even just want to ask one of the customer service representatives ‘Is SkyBet secure?’ in terms of how they handle your money.

So we clicked on the Help icon that appears in the sidebar of the SkyBet homepage. This took us to the SkyBet help centre where you could type in your query, or even browse the range of articles dedicated to topics like My Account, Log In Problems, Sports Rules, Verification / Documents, Offers and Promotions and Banking Query.

While all of this is helpful, we wanted to actually speak to a human so we clicked on the contact tab at the bottom of the page. This merely brought up a simple email contact form that requested that you type in your query. There is also a SkyBet Twitter account that can be used for customer queries.

As a result, it looks like there’s nothing in the way of live chat or telephone support at SkyBet. New Zealand customers will therefore have to put their faith in SkyBet’s customer support representatives getting back to the email support. So is SkyBet reliable for customer service? Probably, but it could be easier to get in touch with their customer support team.

License & Security

SkyBet may be one of the best-known names in the sports betting industry, but it’s still worth asking ‘Is SkyBet reliable?’. This is because you will be giving SkyBet access to your personal details and deposits and it never hurts to be too cautious in the online domain.

Thankfully, we found that SkyBet is a fully licensed and regulated sports betting site. UK customers will be covered by the UK Gambling Commission license, but by coming to SkyBet, New Zealand customers will find that the brand’s license from the Alderney Gambling Control Commission will make it legal to bet here and will also give you plenty of customer protection.

Other things that should give you some extra confidence include the fact that the brand are part of the Independent Betting Adjudication Service, as well as the ESSA Sports Betting Integrity organisation.

You should also know that this sports betting site has an SSL certificate from Comodo. This means that all of your transactions between your browser and the SkyBet site will be encrypted which makes it almost impossible for your sensitive information to be compromised. So is SkyBet secure? We certainly think so.

Rewards & Loyalty Program

SkyBet is a site that looks like it enjoys rewarding its loyal customers with plenty of decent promotions. Nowhere is this better seen than with the Sky Bet Club. Here you can win a $5 free bet token each and every week just by betting $25 on odds of 2.00 or more for any sport each week.

Beyond this, there are lots more special offers to take advantage of. For example, if you are into tennis betting, then SkyBet are willing to give you 10% cashback refund up to $1,000 on your in-play losses on the sport.

Horse racing fans will definitely benefit from special offers that will give you extra places for certain big races such as Flamingo Park. Plus if you are into accumulator betting, then you could get boosted odds for featuring certain selections that’s a great way to get a little more from this often lucrative sports bet.

Plus with some decent football promotions such as one that can give you up to $250,000 in prize winnings for currently predicting six results on a Saturday’s football, it shows that SkyBet are always thinking of new ways to reward you for your sports bets.

Betting Markets

By coming to SkyBet, New Zealanders will be able to enjoy a massive range of odds for sports bets. We had to award some decent SkyBet ratings for their coverage of popular sports like football, horse racing, cricket, rugby union and tennis.

But our SkyBet reviews also found that the brand were equally impressive when it came to anything from Australian rules football to esports. In fact if you come to SkyBet, New Zealand customers will also get to bet on many fairly niche sports that include things like chess, speedway, wrestling and winter sports.

We took a quick look at the range of betting markets SkyBet put on for a typical Premier League football match and we were impressed with what we saw. Not only could you bet on the match winner, but SkyBet also put on some interesting RequestABet deals such as Abraham and Martial to score, more than four corners for each team and Azpilicueta and Maguire to be carded.

Odds

We couldn’t carry out our SkyBet reviews without taking a close and fair look at the brand’s sports betting odds. This meant that we had to put SkyBet through an odds comparison test that put their odds up against a rival brand.

So we picked a English Premier League football match between Chelsea and Manchester United, and compared SkyBet’s odds for this game with those found at ComeOn.

If you wanted to bet on Chelsea to win this match, SkyBet had odds of 1.91. This was a touch less value than ComeOn’s odds of 2.00 for a Chelsea home win.

If you fancied Manchester United to get an away win, SkyBet had odds of 3.90 for this result which was again less than ComeOn’s odds of 4.25. Just so you know, SkyBet had odds of 3.50 for a draw, while ComeOn had odds of 3.45 for the same result.

Live Betting & Streaming

Live betting has transformed the way in which we enjoy betting on sport, and it’s little surprise to find that a brand of SkyBet’s magnitude would offer a quality in-play betting service.

When we carried out our SkyBet review, we found that the brand had in-play bets on for sports as varied as football, tennis, basketball, ice hockey and even esports. This means that you could bet on things like the full time result well after the match had begun.
What impressed us was the fact that SkyBet also allow you to bet live on alternative betting markets such as both teams to score, or you could even try an over/under bet on the number of goals scored and much more.

If you were to bet live at SkyBet, you’ll find that you have much more than just the live score to base your in-play bets on. This is because the brand feature a range of live statistics, live events, a score centre and you can even get a visualisation of the gameplay to keep you in touch with the flow of the game. Not quite the same as getting live streaming, but useful nonetheless.

Limits

So by coming to SkyBet, New Zealand customers should be able to get fair, if not exceptional sports betting odds. Just so you know, it looks like SkyBet allow you to win up to $500,000 per day which should be more than enough for most casual sports betting fans.

Product Conclusion

SkyBet is a very well known bookmaker amidst a sea of different bookmakers. Their sportsbook is very well fleshed out and offers punters a great selection of betting markets and sports to bet on. If you are looking for a well known, trustworthy and quality bookmaker then you could do a lot worse than SkyBet.

Overall Conclusion

There is little arguing with the professional sports betting service that SkyBet put on. New Zealand customers can enjoy a legal, safe and potentially profitable way to bet on a massive range of sports here, and there’s even a nice welcome bonus to help you make a good headstart.

SkyBet didn’t have the best odds on offer, but they put on a service that could help you enjoy sports betting from a computer or via the excellent SkyBet app.

If they could include a few more customer service options and payment methods, then we think that they could encourage a few more customers to sign up to their sports betting services.
