Former boxer Floyd Mayweather and Shantel Jackson have decided to part ways after a controversial rumor from 2014 regarding their relationship resurfaced.
In an Instagram post that has since been taken down, Mayweather posted an ultrasound photo along with a message criticizing Jackson for deciding to have an abortion, while being pregnant with twins.
During an interview with TMZ Sports, Mayweather admitted that he posted the photo. At the time, the 15-time major world champion said that he was told that Jackson lost the babies due to a miscarriage. Later, he found out that it was not the case when a crew member of his Showtime reality show saw medical papers which revealed that Jackson went to have an abortion.
Initially, both Jackson and Mayweather kept their personal lives as much as possible and ignored the rumors. Eventually, he spoke up since Mayweather said Jackson deserved to be publicly shamed as a reaction to something she had done to him.
Meanwhile, Adrian “The Problem” Broner, former Floyd Mayweather’s confidant, has challenged Mayweather to an exhibition match.
Broner is set to make a return to the boxing ring on August 20 against Omar Figueroa Jr. at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Hollywood, Florida. Broner spoke on Cigar Talk about the idea of him and Mayweather sharing the ring and participating in an exhibition.
“We can do an exhibition, 10 rounds, and the whole world is gonna watch it and we gonna get in there and go to work,” Broner said. “Hug and go in the back and get a bag but at the end of the day, I don’t know what’s his feelings.”
Broner also said that he has always wanted to spar with Mayweather, but it has never happened so far. Since Mayweather is locked in with the exhibitions, Broner claimed that a matchup between him and Mayweather would be an easy money.
“This is so easy! This is so easy! This is a layup! This is going to be the most money you ever made in your career! I don’t care if it’s a real fight or an exhibition! We can do an exhibition, ten rounds, and the whole world is going to watch it,” Broner added.
Mayweather will fight against MMA fighter Mikuru Asakura for an exhibition match in Japan this September.
