Anthony Davis Wins Western Conference Player of the Week (3/27/23 – 4/2/23)
The NBA has named Los Angeles Lakers star forward Anthony Davis and the Brooklyn Nets’ Mikal Bridges NBA Players of the Week.
Both Davis and Bridges delivered consistent and outstanding performances for each respective team during Week 24 (March 27 – April 2) as the Lakers and the Nets are trying to secure their playoff spot.

Anthony Davis
With victories over the Chicago Bulls, Minnesota Timberwolves and Houston Rockets, Davis led the Lakers to a 3-0 week, averaging 38.7 points, one steal, 11.7 rebounds, and two blocks. He managed to score 40 points against the Rockets, the first Lakers player since Shaquille O’Neal, while shooting at least 75 percent from the field.
Davis has won nine NBA weekly honors so far in his career, four of which while playing for the Lakers. He was previously named Western Conference Player of the Week on December 5, making this his second honor this season.
During his recent hot streak, AD shared about his mentality, saying that he has been focusing on being aggressive and controlling every possession.

“My job is to go out there and to make everybody else’s job easier with my scoring, defense and rebounding,” Davis told Mike Trudell of Spectrum SportsNet in Houston.
“The more aggressive I am coming out, the game opens up for everyone else on the team and that’s what I’m trying to do, come out with an aggressive mindset and try to dominate each possession.”
Davis has played in 52 games with the Lakers this season and is averaging a career-high 12.4 rebounds per game, along with 26.6 points.

Mikal Bridges
For Bridges, he has been on fire since his trade to Brooklyn from the Phoenix Suns. The 26-year-old continues to prove that the Nets could rely on him even without Kyrie Irving and Kevin Durant.
Since the All-Star break, Bridges has averaged 27.6 points, 4.4 rebounds and 3.3 assists per game, and his stellar performance against the Rockets, Hawks and Jazz is a testament to his perseverance and dedication to the team. Bridges also recorded his third 40-point performance of the season against Atlanta, where he scored 42 points.
