Logan Paul is planning to make his MMA debut soon, and he has called out Paddy Pimblett as his desired opponent on the undercard of the proposed match between Elon Musk and Mark Zuckerberg.
Paul is a well-known internet personality who has dabbled in pro boxing before eventually moving to WWE. In 2022, the YouTuber shocked fans when he shared videos of his training in mixed martial arts. A year later, he announced that he was officially calling out fighters for his UFC match.
“I’ll be honest, I pitched it,” said Paul in a July 4 episode of the IMPAULSIVE podcast.
“If Elon Musk and Zuckerberg fight, I will do my UFC debut on the undercard, for free. I’ll fight for free, for charity.”
Paul has competed in weight classes of 200 and 189.5 pounds in his last two fights — a pro outing against KSI and an exhibition against Floyd Mayweather. Both weights are significantly higher than the 155-pound class in which Pimblett competes.
It is unlikely that Paul could safely make the lightweight limit. However, Paul believes Pimblett’s tendency to gain weight during the offseason would create a fair match.
Logan is not the first of the Paul brothers linked to a fight with Pimblett. His younger brother, Jake Paul, had talks with the mixed martial artist late last year about a possible fight. It now appears that Logan may be the first of the Paul brothers to take on Pimblett in the octagon.
Pimblett (20-3), a former Cage Warriors featherweight champion, has yet to fight since co-headlining UFC 282 in December 2022. He remained unbeaten in the UFC since moving to the promotion, securing a controversial decision win over Jared Gordon.
“The Baddy” is still recovering from ankle surgery after his last win. He is expected to return to the octagon in late 2023.
