Tom Brady debuted on FOX Sports with a cameo appearance during the “Big Noon Kickoff” before the Michigan Wolverines played the East Carolina Pirates on Saturday.

The former Wolverines quarterback voiced his support for the Michigan team as they aim to secure a national championship in the Big Ten Conference title race.

The seven-time Super Bowl champion has secured a substantial contract with FOX Sports, making him the network’s primary NFL game analyst starting in 2024. The agreement spans ten years and is valued at $375 million.

Brady expressed his belief that Michigan is poised for success this year, mentioning their recent two consecutive Big Ten titles and victories over Ohio State.

“Look guys, I hate to ruin this for everyone else, but this is Michigan’s year,” said Brady.

He pointed out that coach Harbaugh had retained several key players, including quarterback J.J. McCarthy, running back Blake Corum and the Wolverines’ defensive unit.

“The winningest program in college football history is ready to go and make another national championship run. We got this. Let’s go. Go Blue,” he said.

The Wolverines secured a 30-3 victory over the Pirates in Saturday’s matchup. Last year, they reached the College Football Playoff but lost against TCU Horned Frogs in the semifinals.

McCarthy wore a “FREE Harbaugh” shirt before and after Saturday’s game, expressing support for Jim Harbaugh amid his Level I suspension. The 59-year-old coach is serving a three-game suspension due to alleged recruiting violations during the COVID-19 dead period.

RB Blake Corum led with 73 rushing yards and a touchdown, while WR Roman Wilson caught six passes for 78 yards, including all three of McCarthy’s touchdown throws. WR Cornelius Johnson added five catches for 71 yards.

Brady’s college career

Brady played college football at the University of Michigan from 1996 to 1999 before being drafted by the New England Patriots in the 2000 NFL Draft.

He contributed to Michigan’s victory over the Washington State Cougars in the 1998 Rose Bowl. During that season, Brady completed 12 out of 15 passes for 103 passing yards from four games as a backup signal-caller.
