The Arizona Cardinals won 28-16 over the Dallas Cowboys in NFL Week 3 on Sunday, with WR Rondale Moore scoring a 45-yard touchdown.

On second-and-2 from the Cowboys’ 45, Moore lined up to the right of quarterback Joshua Dobbs. He took the handoff pass and dashed untouched for a touchdown, giving the Cardinals a 15-3 lead with 12 minutes and 31 seconds remaining in the second quarter.

Moore then found an opening on the left side of the line between Cardinals left tackle D.J. Humphries and center Hjalte Froholdt. Left guard Trystan Colon, who had replaced starting left guard Elijah Wilkinson on that drive, sprinted downfield to block Cowboys safety Markquese Bell, giving Moore the space he needed to zoom past him.

As Moore neared the end zone, it turned into a speed race between him and four Cowboys players. Moore’s touchdown was the 2023 season’s longest rushing touchdown without contact and the Cardinals’ longest since 2020.

Moore concluded his performance with three carries for 54 yards and one rushing TD while also catching four passes for eight yards.

Dobbs secures first win

It was their season’s longest allowed run for the Cowboys, surpassing Dobbs’ 44-yard run in the first quarter. Before this game, the longest run Dallas had allowed was only 18 yards.

“It feels good when you win — you gotta enjoy them,” Dobbs said in the post-game conference. He also mentioned that the Cowboys were “difficult to come by in the NFL.”

With seven NFL seasons behind him, Dobbs finally secured his first win, throwing for 189 yards and a touchdown. Before this, he had a 0-4 record as a starter, losing twice with the Tennessee Titans last season and twice more with the Cardinals this year. Dobbs ended the game with an impressive 17 completions out of 21 passes.

Prior to the game, Dallas had impressive wins in the first two weeks of the NFL season, beating the Giants 40-0 in Week 1 and the Jets 30-10 in Week 2. However, they encountered problems when cornerback Trevon Diggs sustained an injury during a recent team practice, which forced him to sit out the game against the Cardinals.
