Green Bay Packers put an end to their four-game losing streak with a 20-3 victory over the Los Angeles Rams at Lambeau Field on Sunday.
The Packers had been in a rough position in recent games, with the Minnesota Vikings hammering the Packers down 24-10 on their October 30 game. The victory enabled the Packers to improve their position to 3-5.
“We’re a mess right now,” Packers head coach Matt LaFleur said.
Packers quarterback Jordan Love did 20-of-26 for 228 yards with one touchdown, no interception and a 115.5 passer rating. Tight end Luke Musgrave earned three catches for 51 yards with one touchdown, whereas wide receiver Dontayvion Wicks grabbed four catches for 49 yards with one fumble.
Wide receiver Christian Watson earned one catch for 37 yards before a touchdown by Musgrave in the fourth quarter before he exited the match for health examinations. Watson was afflicted with chest, back, and concussion injuries that mandated health checkups.
The Packers earned 184 rushing yards in the match thanks to running backs Aaron Jones (73 yards with an additional 26 yards and four receptions), AJ Dillon (40 yards with nine carries) and Emanuel Wilson (43 yards with four carries), as well as wide receiver Jayden Reed (19 yards with additional 21 yards).
Green Bay’s 7-3 at halftime ensured the team’s first lead at the break since Week 2 on September 18 against the Atlanta Falcons.
On the downside, the overall game did not start on a positive note for Green Bay. Wicks fumbled after making a 10-yard reception on his team’s first offensive play during the game’s first half.
Rams defensive back Ahkello Witherspoon then recovered and seized the opportunity from the fumbled Wicks. However, Witherspoon failed to score despite an opportunity from Wicks’ fumbling.
Love once again proved his efficiency in preventing the opponent from seizing opportunity, putting the Rams away late with a 25-yard touchdown pass to Musgrave.
Love was sacked four times throughout the game.
