YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul will co-headline a women’s unified featherweight championship match scheduled for March 2, 2024, in Puerto Rico.
Organized by Most Valuable Promotions (MVP), the event will see IBF, WBO, WBA, IBO and The Ring women’s featherweight champion Amanda Serrano defending her titles against Nina Meinke.
It’s only less than a week after Paul’s victory over Andre August at Caribe Royal Orlando in Orlando, Florida, yet the “Problem Child” wasted no time in announcing his participation in the Puerto Rican event.
“Fighting for the first time at home in Puerto Rico alongside one of the greatest fighters ever, Amanda Serrano, promises to be the event of a lifetime,” Paul said in a press release.
“I’m honored to be the co-main event on Amanda’s homecoming card, and I could not be more excited to bring this historic event to Puerto Rico as I continue my path to becoming a world champion.
Recapping Paul’s recent achievements, the 26-year-old secured a unanimous decision victory against former UFC star Nate Diaz in Dallas in August. This win marked a triumphant comeback after suffering his first career defeat by split decision against Tommy Fury in February in Diriyah, Saudi Arabia.
While the identity of Paul’s upcoming opponent remains undisclosed, MVP has assured fans that the occasion will mark “the most viewed Puerto Rican boxing event in history.”
“I’m excited to prove my greatness and make history again in the ring at the Choliseo over 12, three-minute rounds. Thank you to the IBF, WBO, WBA, IBO, and Ring Magazine, Most Valuable Promotions, and my team for making this possible,” Serrano said.
“A special thank you to Jake Paul, who gave me an opportunity to fight as his co-main many times and allowed me to show my skills to the world. I am honored to have Jake as my co-main for the first time.”
